Offspring from Ulka;
Jett, young dog TKN titled. Gone through obedience class, very good nerve/reaction to various stock animals/dogs/people/loud city noise/hangs out at a busy animal health clinic...Also, an advertisement model for a raw dog food company (no surprise from the looks of him)! He leads a full life.
Brooke with owner/handler just passed their SAR Temperament Test with a perfect score. Congratulations! Good morning, Ramona. Just wanted to send you an update on Lizzy. We are doing well and training hard. She just passed her temperament test with the Clackamas county sheriffs office. She got a perfect score!! The temperament test is more like a CGC test, pretty much all the same elements. She had to heel off leash within a crowd (right turn, left turn, and about face). We had to do a figure 8 around two other officers and their dogs and then sit and have the same dogs turn round her. She had to pass the non-reactivity test to an officer in a bite suit (the SAR team does not allow dogs with bite experience to be on the team). And she had to be left alone on lead with me leaving the room and then be handled with an officer. She was amazing and quite the charmer. Everyone loved her sweet demeanor and small frame. We are getting quite close to our certification test. I am hoping to get her certified by the end of the summer. She is great, I just need to work out some of my own kinks with line management and working blind trails. Being able to read and trust your dog on a blind trail the hardest part, in my opinion. I hope all is well with you and your family. Thank you, as always, for giving me an amazing dog. She is beloved by everyone she meets. Brooke
young pup exposure to public area/shiny floors. A lively, confident pup
(a recent photo of Lizzy with a SAR teammate who she found in good time.) Things have been going well with Lizzy. We are now in phase 3 of our training and have been working longer, aged tracks on mixed surfaces as well as working urban tracks. Her stamina and persistence are outstanding with sweet personality and stable temperament. She will have her CGC test done at the end of the summer which is a requirement to continue training with the SAR team. I'm hoping by early next year she will be ready for tracking certification (done by OSSA). At the pace we are going now I can't imagine we won't achieve this. Her health has been great so far too. She does occasionally suffer from mild allergies (itchy coat) but this has been easily managed with diet. We love her so much. She is a good working partner, but at the end of the day she is our loving companion...and that is what pleases me most. Thank you for your dedication to this breed. She gives such a great name to German shepherds! Brooke
Young son of ULKA, owner writes: Hi Ramona, Hawk is 5 months and what a great dog. Onyx, our 1st dog from you (Xurk sire) is now 8. We can’t thank you enough for having such a great breeding program. Marcello
Both enjoyable to be around and willing to train, Ulka with pup doing a lovely sit stay before pup left for new home. Pup has since earned his CGC and Cadaver 1 certified at 14 months.
Hello Ramona, Hope this message finds you and your family well. I just wanted to give you an update on our beautiful loyal girl, Mavis. She is my protector and shadow. Mavis reminds us so much of Margaux. I cannot believe how similar they are. We take her on adventures to parks and stores, she never lets us down. Thank you again for letting us have her, Kellina
A clever pup helping himself to visitors treat pocket.
Mavrick, owner writes; He's doing great! He knows hier, platz, sitz, and warten. I've been teaching him to track, and he took to that like a duck to water. I take him for a walk on a local nature trail almost every day, and he stops and sits whenever we pass by other dogs or people, without even being told. Ben
Dear Ramona, I hope this email finds you well. Quick update on Lizzy (aka Frieda). She has been doing so well with her SAR training, very good drive. She knows what she is doing and picks up on new skills quickly. What I am most pleased with is her ability to settle in and calm down on her days off! She is always ready to go train but is also able to chill at my feet. That is impressive for a 9-month-old shepherd! I cannot thank you enough for this dog! Brooke
