Below are examples of EXCELLENT homes we have found for our beloved retired brood females.
Photos and updates provided by the new owners; who absolutely love these dogs!

  • Ursa and Andy are a perfect fit. Andy is busy on his farm/ranch and Ursa is a constant companion to Andy. Ursa is a very lucky dog!

    Hi Ramona!

For Ursa’s 12th birthday on 3/1/25, I decided to celebrate by making her a birthday steak (her favorite…grass fed and raw).

I’m so thankful you let Ursa adopt me.  I wasn’t sure what to expect from a dog who was almost 7 1/2 when she retired.  It took about a week for the transition to be complete.  She is truly a best friend and her loyalty is absolute.
I’m sure there are times she wishes you would have given her a brighter human (‘can’t take my eye off him for 5 minutes or he’ll wander off and get lost…couldn’t backtrack himself to save his soul’), but she doesn’t let it bother her.

There are times in the house in the evening when I wonder how much longer we’ll have together.  But when we go out the door, she transforms into a teenager.  She launches herself and lands on her back, does a quick squiggle and pops back up with a wagging tail and an expectant look that seems to say ‘Aww right!  What are we going to do now!’.

So, again, thanks for an opportunity that I hope has been good for both of us!

    Best regards,
    Andy and Ursa

  • New owners in Idaho for the fabulous Finley. Kody is a firefighter who brings Finley to work most days We could not have hoped for a better home than what Kody and his wife is providing!

    Hi Ramona,

Fin is such a BLESSING to us, and to my team at work.... She's been here at work with me almost every day for the last two weeks, and just totally and completely KNOWS when somebody needs to just play a little bit with a dog... She will go to the person in the room that is having a hard time and drop her "toy-of-the-day" right into his or her lap. She's also always ready for anybody to just come into my office at any time and sit on the floor to scratch her head, ears, and neck.

We haven't trained SAR in a few weeks due to family commitments and out of town visitors, but we'll get back into it here shortly, and she's just a natural tracker.

Our daily routine includes checking on her chickens, getting a handful of dried larvae for her good behavior with the ladies, lots of walks and tug and fetch play time, and she's also become very fond and protective and playful with our two cats!

She's also become a HUGE hit with all the folks at my parents assisted living facility...we had better have her with us when we visit!
This dog was built for us and this time.

    Super grateful to you, Ramona!

I think we'll be adding one of your pups to our family in a couple of years.

    Kody
