Meet “J” littermates Kobuk & Jack
What we are most proud of about these males is their character & trainability, how they treat other people/dogs and how they present themselves in public & at home.
They are good representatives of the breed and should produce quality pups for both work & family.
Kobuk & Jack belong to a strong-successful sire line, sire Xurk, grandsire Zoot, great-grandsire our foundation male SG Rocky Venusina sopka (son of renown Tom z Pohranicni straze), a bloodline that has reliably and consistently produced quality working dogs (Law Enforcement / Search & Rescue / SchH3).
Furthermore, our exceptional foundation broods Jetta vom Feldhaus (Canadian Import, producer of Law Enforcement, SAR & IGP3 offspring) & SG Varna z Pohrancini straze (Czech Import, producer of Law Enforcement, SAR & IGP3 offspring) are behind Kobuk & Jack.
From a large litter with owners reporting stellar character & good health to date. There is a wonderful, willingness to work WITH the handler and ability to train in different areas with drive and focus. Very strong retrieve/prey/ball drive, a nice level of push/persistence in wants with very good scent/hunt ability. One male loves agility, has been tracking and demonstrates nose down-methodical work and good hunt ability. The other male performs excellent in scent trial’s achieving numerous titles before 1 yr of age & has earned his Rally Novice B title in his 14th month of age with absolutely fabulous scores of 100/99/97! Both show appropriate, protective instinct (aggression), watchful of territory, are controllable & biddable dogs who can easily settle in households of multi dogs, owned/trained by people who have titled numerous dogs over the years in various disciplines. Both are within the breed standard of size, are enjoyable dogs to train & spend time with, have big personalities with looks to match.
Excellent hip & elbow health along with physical good looks have pleased owners and caught attention of countless strangers in public & at trials who have made a point to make positive comment. The veterinarian who performed the radiographs, took time out from their day to email us praise for breeding such outstanding hips.
The dam of Kobuk & Jack is; STORMY OFA Good/Normal, OFA Eyes Normal, DM Clear. Working Service Dog, CGCA CGCU TKA, Multiple x Skijoring Classic Competitor (always in top 10, & one 4th place finish out of 30 dogs). Stormy is a female of good character and health. She brings in working blood from German, Netherland and CZ kennels, some of which are;
~ V Zico von der Adelegg SchH3, WUSV 2010, BSP 2010 (2nd Place), BSP 2009. Only 31 months old when he won his first LGA (LG13) in 2009, he was 22nd BSP in Donaueschingen. In 2010 he was LGA Sieger again, 2nd in BSP, and 13th in WUSV. In 2011 9th place BSP, LGA Sieger, 3rd place 7-Länderwettkampf. 2012 107th place BSP, 2nd place 7-Länderwettkampf 2013 12th place BSP, vice-LGA Sieger, 2nd place 7-Länderwettkampf.
~ SG Ellute von der Mohnwiese BSP, 2002 LGA KG13 in Schönaich. Comment by judge Mr. Rüdenauer ”Convincing male strong drive, resilient with exemplary grips." SchH1: 100/85/98. SchH2: 95/90/96. SchH3: 90/94/98. LGA 2003: 95/90/95. Federal FCI: 94/90/96. BSP 2004: 100/77/97. Ellute along with Eros and other littermates is one of the most successful top competition breedings of recent times. Ellute leaves behind generations of stable & successful competition German shepherds.
~ Crok vom Erlenbusch SchH3, FH1, BSP. ~ Wally vom Ritterland SchH3. ~ G Ax v. 'T Oerdijkerland SchH3, IPO3, VH3, VZH. ~ V Aline von der Mohnwiese SchH3, FH1, WUSV 2000, SWHV Champion 1999. ~ SG Emilka Anrebri SchH3 IPO3 ZPO2 ZM ZVV3 Exceptional-unique working & producing female we’ve admired who lived into her 14th year and attained the ZVV3 title. Healthy, long-lived, incredibly vital, hardworking and very fertile, produced MANY accomplished offspring. Few females are able to do as much as Emilka. Of further interest to us are lines of dogs from USA kennels (active 1960’s into 2000) who purposely bred dogs for performance competition, with pedigrees full of OTCH, UD, TD back through many generations, producing SANE dogs of excellent trainability & versatility, bringing in valuable old herding HGH & DDR lines. Most notable of these dogs are;
~ G Jamie v. Stolzenfels SchH1 CD, daughter of 1979 DDR Sieger Bodo vom Grafental one of 2 foundation breeding males used by guide and seeing eye breeding programs. Often ranked within the yearly top 10 producing dams of working titled offspring in the USA during the 1990’s according to GSDCA records.
~ Hodenhof’s Jette von Fernheim SchH1 CDX TD HT, used as brood bitch for guide dog program. Daughter of HGH Herding Sieger Gauner vom Kirschental,… Both ranked within the yearly top 10 producing sire/dam of working titled offspring in the USA during the 1990’s according to GSDCA records.
~ Valiantdale’s Boss vom Icon CDX FH TD SchH3, Boss was of sold temperament, a very correct & easily trained dog. His sire Valiantdale’s Icon vom Irwin UT TD SchH3 consistently ranked within the yearly top 10 producing sires of working titled offspring in the USA during the 1990’s according to GSDCA records (often ranked the # 1 sire).
Valiantdale along with Fernheim, were kennels that produced some very good working dogs.

Cindi & Kobuk receive a perfect score of 100 for their 1st leg in Rally Novice B! They went on to earn their Rally Novice title with simply outstanding scores of 100/99/97 and a 1st place win on the first leg in Advanced Rally! This young male is just in his 14th month of age!
….He was relaxed hanging out in his crate with all the other dogs and activity with temps getting pretty toasty this afternoon. Got him out a couple times to stretch his legs. And when it was time for him to work, he was terrific. This is where you as his breeder come into the picture. To have a relaxed dog that doesn’t get stressed is wonderful. They can focus on the job at hand. I consider myself a decent trainer but nothing outstanding. Having a dog that I don’t have to overcome environmental issues makes it a relatively easy job to train.

Littermate JAKE
Ramona,
You bred a beautiful, intelligent dog and probably litter as well. Jake is very driven, smart, very very very energetic. He sleeps with our other older dog in the downstairs level where there is a dog door to an enclosed kennel. It seems he doesn't need much sleep as he awakens about 4a.m. and is ready and pacing for his 5 a.m. breakfast. He just completed a second round of obedience training where he was introduced to commotion at a local park. He is a beautiful shepherd and my wife, who was hesitant to getting another dog, absolutely loves him. He will be an excellent companion on her hikes and I wish I could get him to join me in my tractors. He is probably about 70+ pounds, very lean long and tall, and a voracious eater. I'm so glad we got him from you.Hope you and family are well as well as the cool animals.
I appreciate you reaching out.

There is no perfect dog! A breeder is always making compromises / adjustments in some area, aiming for good health, temperament and trainability. Nonetheless, it is always nice to receive kind words on one's work. This time it was extra special as it comes from a top-rated veterinarian who sees countless x rays, whose hospital was voted 2024 Best Veterinary Clinic in the state of Montana, who took time out of their busy day to compliment us on a dog from our kennel.
“….These hips for PennHIP were some of the tightest I've seen for a while- especially for a German Shepherd. Great job breeding for those! Let us know if you have any questions or concerns,
Dr. Julie -

Littermate SHADOW
Hi Ramona
Shadow is a fantastic young dog. Great temperament, we love her guarding instincts and very chill in the house for her age. She’s been good with people of all ages, especially my 1 yr old nephew. Everyone who has visited our house has been very complimentary on her character.

Littermate FREYA
Hello Ramona,
Freya is a great youngster, very smart and easy to train.
I took her shopping not too long ago and she did really well, every time I stopped to look at something she would lay down and wait until I was ready to go. I was very proud of her!
She is doing a great job around my 10-month-old granddaughter. As you can see she is already very comfortable around her.
She is a great addition to our family.
Thank you!
Best regards, Jutta

Littermate GABI

Kobuk and Jack, first get together since they were 8 weeks of age. Enjoyable dogs & visit!
Ramona,
What a great young dog and representative of a German Shepherd. Other people and dogs don’t bother him at all, zero reactivity, he is perfect for traveling and being in public. His focus for a 9-month-old male is truly exceptional.
Kobuk qualified 6 for 6 entries, placed in all; 3 - firsts, 2 - seconds, 1 - third and earned his title in Novice Interiors.
As I’ve said before…you’ve given me great raw material to work with.

Ramona, Eight yrs ago you 'gifted me' Marrok. I've not accomplished as much as I wanted to with him (life happened), but we accomplished enough. He is an amazing demo dog for my training facility. He has been in multiple TV picture shows/series. I have trained him for antler/shed detection (as a hobby). He is also an amazing PPD. Every trainer/decoy that I have worked with truly enjoys him, they all comment on how great of a dog he is (I agree but am biased). I am looking into getting another dog sometime soon and I would love to stick with you. Lisa -

Hi Ramona, “Mac” is doing wonderfully. Always loyal, always by my side, and by far my best worker. This dog exceeded all of my expectations. I wonder sometimes if she is more machine than dog for how well she remembers everything I've taught her and how happy she is to work with me. Almost 7 years old now and recalls happily, lives to please, and smart as ever. She was spayed after 4 and never had a litter. We are hoping to step back in the ring after our pause and trial to finish her CD this year in April/November and I have no lack of confidence in her ability to do so. No real health issues to report. Thank you so much for selling me a dog who is truly like no other, who I will always compare any future dogs to because she is simply amazing. Rest assured she couldn't be more loved here. Alicia, Porta Rico
