Petra was a very good producer for Sapphire Shepherds.  We placed her offspring worldwide in a variety of homes: SchH 3 and also National competition level, Search & Rescue, Herding, foundation stock for working breeding programs, and family protection / companions. Petra's genetics have also been recognized and used through her son Czar of Sapphire Mountain by the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police Dog Breeding Program), one of our clients of Czar’s semen.

Petra was an extremely elegant strong boned female with a beautiful head type and an excellent conformation rating. Petra is a typical daughter of  Gero z Blatenskeho zamku. Gero was a top producing stud dog for the world renowned Czech Border Patrol. He was famous for imparting his offspring with great hardness and courage.

Petra's bloodlines were excellent. Through her father she is of the bloodline founded by Utz v. Haus Schutting. Petra’s dam Ajika z Jirkove Dvora was a primary breeding female for the famous z Jirkova Dvora kennel. Bred to Gero z Blatenskeho Zamku, this cross became a proven top breeding combination that was used more than once as it produced very strong working offspring. This match was designed by the head of genetics for the z Pohranicni straze kennel. The pedigree behind Petra is an excellent example of out crossing, incorporating a percentage of West German old show bloodline into this pedigree resulted in bringing balance and diversity to a very intense group of working dogs, also improveing upon beauty and structure. This bloodline goes back to perhaps the most important dam in modern times Palme v Wildsteiger Land and includes other dogs such as Fedor v. Arminius, and Ux v. Kirschental.

Petra showed good natural suspicion of strangers, had considerable defense and civil drive. She was breed surveyed: Pronounced Courage and Hardness. She had strong prey & retrieve drive and was strong in all three phases of work. Petra possessed solid social behavior, she was good with our children and was a joyful member of our family. Her protection work and tracking skills were excellent! Petra produced many good pups for our program with minimal health problems. Petra's pups had strong bones, heads, nerves and dark pigment. Owners report strong drives, clear-in-the-head, dominate dogs. They showed early prey and retrieve drive, strong tracking abilities and a high level of natural aggression well suited for police and service areas of work. Petra was always very healthy and proved herself to be an excellent foundation female. She always produced large litters of active, vital pups. Her offspring have proven themselves as excellent working dogs in a number of different fields.

We were very fortunate to have Petra's bloodlines within our breeding program and carried on through her son Czar of Sapphire Mountain.
