Endless attention, both psychological and practical is necessary for the brood bitch if she is to produce a litter truly healthy and capable of improving the health standard of the breed. The foundation female is the back bone of a Breeding Program. The future continuance of any particular strain of dog is greatly dependent upon the health and the breeding powers of the brood bitch.
