RAVEN female owned by Dr. Chris Heckert & Liza Zimring |
 |
Ramona,
First let me say how sorry I am for not yet having followed
through on our promise to send you photographs of Raven. Becoming a
doctor was a big challenge and unfortunately I needed to put some
important things on hold. However, now that I am a doctor, Liza and
I want to make up for being remiss in our promise to you, so we are
sorting through a number of sets of photographs in order to give you a
chronology of Raven's development (i.e., six months, one year, two
years, etc; yes she turned two in November, can you believe it?).
Additionally, I hope you are well and enjoying the holidays. We looked
at your current dogs while we were on your sight and they look
impressive. We constantly think about getting Raven a buddy but have
not yet been quite ready. Maybe if and when you breed Rocky and Penne
again. Once again thank you for sending us the most incredible dog we
could ever want to welcome into our home. She is truly remarkable. Her
intelligence, beauty, power, loyalty, and sheer determination are a
sight to behold. We just took her for a five day trip up to the beaches
in Northern California where she could run free and show off. We all
loved it.
Bye for now,
Dr. Christopher Heckert and Liza Zimring |

HANNAH female, owned by Kelli Walker. |
 |
Hi Ramona! I hope the summer is treating you well! We
have been considering breeding Hannah, but are not sure how to proceed.
Neither of us have done this before, so it might not be the best option
for us. Hannah has been in season off and on several times, the most
recently a few weeks ago. She will be two this November, and we would
need to get her hips, etc. tested. Could you give me some advice? We
really have enjoyed Hannah and would love to have offspring from her. She
is incredibly smart, very family oriented, beautifully marked and in
fabulous shape. But maybe we should leave the breeding to the experts,
like you!
Thanks!
I have attached a few photos of Hannah taken today. Last time she was
weighed at the vet was a few months ago and she was 75 lbs. She is very
muscular and lean with large, powerful thighs. Probably from all the
running she does playing fetch. We take her to the ocean and lakes to
swim. She retrieves really well and is a strong swimmer. She has great
eye sight also for retrieving, even when she is in the water.
Remember when I had concerns with her and our ducks? Well, she now goes in
the duck pen with Ben every morning to feed and water them. They get
along great, no one bothering the other. Even when the ducks were nesting
this Spring and had babies, she did well. I guess she understands they
are part of the family.
Take care!

KELSO male, owner Dr. Jenny Olson. |
|
Ramona,
Today we started obedience training for real, with the fellow that
specializes in GSD's. He does a lot of Schuntzhund training along with
obedience work. He said I have "a great pup" and "you'll have no
trouble with whatever you do" after our first lesson. He said that
because he has had a lot of experience with shepherds, that he sees a
lot of shepherd pups for beginning classes and often has trouble finding
something nice to say. He often works with folks who have a puppy bred
locally, or in someone's backyard and he can tell right away that the
breeding is not the best. Lots of white shepherds and "spooky" pups he
says. So anyhow, he said it was so great to meet Kelso, as he is such a
well bred pup! He put me in touch with someone who does S&R and said
he'd love to see me come to one of his Sunday afternoon Schuntzhund club
meetings to see if I am interested. He had mostly black and tan's but
had a very pretty bicolor female that is also Czech bred. He looked
over Kel's pedigree very carefully, and though said he had little
Czech experience, he knew as much about the Czech kennels as I did from
reading your web page. At the end he said Kelso had a very nice
temperament and would be fun to teach. Just thought you'd like to here
nice things said about your puppies, but I am sure you hear that a lot!
take care,
jenny |
